Up Jumped Spring

It's the time of the year,
springtime should be near.
The winter has frozen your smile
with cold days, long rain.
But there's a sunbeam peepin'

Through your curtain
it's an up jumped spring, what makes your heart wanna sing.
Start a mellow refrain
of young birds, new flirts.
It looks like spring's here to stay.

Like the world has been shaking,
new green is aching,
to reach their tiny heads towards the light.
All the people I see walking by,
they're smiling, not used
to the sun in their eyes.
A warm day, you'll pray,
this up jumped spring will stay until May.
